Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honor For Maloney

Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honor For Maloney

For the second week in a row, Wells College women's lacrosse athlete Mackenzie Maloney earned recognition as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. It is the second time this season that Maloney has earned a weekly honor for women's lacrosse. She is a two-time all-conference selection.

Over two games for the Express, Maloney totaled 10 goals and nine assists. She had 13 points on eight goals and five assists in a 17-14 win for Wells over Lancaster Bible College. That victory helped Wells secure a spot in the NEAC playoffs for the first time since 2011. The 13-point effort was one-point shy of her single-game record of 14 points, set earlier this year against Penn State Abington.

Maloney is majoring in inclusive childhood education with a minor in psychology. She is a native of Huntington, New York.

Wells is 5-3 overall and 4-3 in the NEAC. The Express concludes the regular season this weekend at Medaille College and at Hilbert College. Wells will play its opening-round playoff game May 1 against an opponent to be determined following this weekend's games.
