Record-Setting Week Earns Weekly Honor For Maloney

Wells College women's lacrosse senior Mackenzie Maloney was named as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 17. The senior midfielder scored four goals and eight assists in an 18-9 win at Houghton on March 12. In that game, Maloney passed Sara Cooke with the first Wells goal of the game. She set a single-game program record with eight assists in the game. Over the weekend, Maloney added 11 goals and two assists in a loss at Wesley. She finished the week with 15 goals, 10 assists, 13 ground balls, 14 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers.

Maloney is majoring in inclusive childhood education with a minor in psychology. She is a native of Huntington, New York. It is the first weekly award of the season for Maloney, a three-time all-conference selection.

Wells is 1-1 on the year and will play its home-opener Monday, March 25 at 5:30 p.m. against Hartwick College.
