Keuka Storms Past Wells Women's Lacrosse

The Wells College women's lacrosse team took the field in a matchup of North Eastern Athletic Conference undefeated teams and Keuka College won the game 26-9 over the Express on Saturday, April 6 at the Wells Turf Field.

The Express scored five times in the first half and added four second half goals. Keuka is 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the NEAC. Wells is 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

Keuka led 4-0 early before back-to-back goals from Miranda Mingen and Julia Smith got the Express back in the game. Keuka responded with an 8-1 run to seize control, and the Wolves led 15-5 at halftime.

Julia Smith led the Express with three goals. Savanah Connors, Mackenzie Maloney, and Miranda Mingen each scored twice. Connors and Renee Bartosz had one assist each. Wells goalkeeper Anna Bozeat had 10 saves and Delany Kendrick had one save for the Express in 12 minutes of action.

Maloney led the defensive effort with three caused turnovers, six ground balls, and four draw controls.

Wells is back in action Sunday, April 7 with a 1 p.m. home game against D'Youville College.
