WOMEN OPEN UP PLAYOFFS AGAINST D'YOUVILLE

The Wells College women's soccer team finished the season with a record of 6-9-2 (3-4-1 NEAC) and will play as the sixth seed in the upcoming North Eastern Athletic Conference championship. The Express will be taking on third seed D'Youville College at 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 6th, at All High Stadium in Buffalo, NY.

D'Youville enters the tournament with a record of 5-9-1 (5-2-1 NEAC) and is currently third in the conference in goals scored with 27. Wells and D'Youville met on October 25th with D'Youville coming out on top 3-2 in overtime. D'Youville held the edge in shots 22-15, with both teams finishing with six corners.
 
Wells will be dependent upon their defense as they enter the tournament having given up the third least amount of goals in the conference with nine. The defense is led by 2007 NEAC First Team All-Conference and Goalie of the Year selection Claire Petersen. Petersen ranks first in the conference in save percentage, second in shutouts, goals against average, and third in total saves and saves per game.

Offensively Wells had a well rounded attack through out the season with 11 different players recording at least one point during the year. Emily Lotkowictz currently enters the tournament leading all scorers with 12-points (5 G, 2 A) while Amanda Heterbring has nine points on four goals and one assist.
