WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM ELIMINATED FROM NEAC TOURNAMENT

Aurora, New York – The #6 seed Wells College women's soccer team lost to #2 seed SUNY Cobleskill 4-0 in the semi-final round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship Tournament held at Keuka College on Saturday afternoon. Express goalie Claire Petersen (Derby, NY) finished with 21-saves. 

The Express would bend, but not break in the first half, as SUNY Cobleskill peppered NEAC third-team selection goalie, Claire Petersen with 13 shots on goal. Kayla Wisniewski would put Cobleskill up 1-0 off a corner kick with just 50-seconds left in the first half. Cobleskill outshot the Express 19-8 in the half and 2-0 in corner kicks. 

SUNY Cobleskill continued their attack in the second half as Wisniewski would add her second goal of the game, just 3:38 into the second half, to give Cobleskill the 2-0 lead. Although, the Express would put five shots on net in the second half, they were unable to put a shot by Cobleskill goalie Lisa Every who finished with ten saves. Elizabeth Goyette would add two goals of her in own late in the second half to give Cobleskill a commanding 4-0 lead and put the game out of reach for the Express. 

With the loss the Express finish their season at 7-10-2, while Cobleskill improves to 9-6-1 and will take on #1 seed Keuka College tomorrow in the NEAC Championship game.
