WOMEN'S SOCCER LOSES IN OT

Elma, NY- The Wells College women's soccer team again saw an overtime bid fall short as D'Youville College scored three minutes into the first overtime to give the Spartans a 3-2 win on Saturday at D'Youville. The Express were led by Emily Lotkowictz (Skaneateles, NY) who scored her team leading fifth goal and goalie Claire Petersen (Derby, NY) who finished with eight saves.

Lotkowictz received a pass from Michaela Wilson (Northfield, NJ) and placed the ball past goalie Sandra McKeen to give the Express a 1-0 lead and that is how the first half would end. The Express finished the first half outshooting D'Youville 7-4 and 3-2 in corner kicks.

Six minutes into the second D'Youville tied the game on an unassisted goal by Krissandra Schultz. Juli Vibbard would give the Express a 2-1 lead with less than 20-minutes to go, but Wells could not hang on as D'Youville pressured the defense and tied the game at 2-2 on a goal by Natalie Pelton with under six minutes left in the game.

It did not take long for the Spartans to end the game as Nicole Mosher had a clear by the Express defense deflect off her leg and past Petersen for the game winning goal.

With the loss the Express fall to 6-9-1 (3-4-0 NEAC) while D'Youville improves to 5-8-1 (5-1-1 NEAC).

The Express will wrap up their regular season on the road on Saturday, November 1st, at 12:00 pm against NEAC opponent Penn St. Berks.
