WELLS WOMEN’S SOCCER LOSES AT PENN. ST. HARRISBURG

(Harrisburg, Pa.)─  Despite eight saves from Rachel Mattraw (Chaumont, N.Y./Lyme Central) the Wells College women's soccer team was unable to contain Penn. St. Harrisburg as the Express fell 4-0 to the Nittany Lions in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Sunday afternoon in Harrisburg, Pa. Lyndsey McNeal paced the Nittany Lions with two goals. The loss drops the Express to 1-8-1 overall and 1-3 in NEAC play, while the Nittany Lions improve to 4-2-1 (2-0-1 NEAC).   

The Nittany Lions held a 2-0 lead heading into the break on unassisted goals by Shelly Erb and McNeil. The second half proved to be the same as the first as the Nittany Lions would tally two goals en route to 4-0 victory over the Express.   

For the game, the Nittany Lions held the advantage in shots (24-3) and corners (10-1).   

Wells will look to bounce back next against NEAC opponent SUNY Morrisville on Saturday, October 2 at 1:00 p.m. in Morrisville.
