Tucker Scores In 5-1 Express Loss

AURORA, N.Y. – Despite a first half goal by Savannah Tucker (Rochester, N.Y.), the Wells College women's soccer team posted a 5-1 loss to the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College Saturday afternoon. With the victory, Lancaster Bible improves to 6-3 overall while the Express fall to 2-8 on the season. Within the conference, the Chargers collect their third conference victory (3-1) while the Express have lost five games against conference opponents (1-5).

Monica Horning recorded a seven point game (3-1=7) for the Chargers, scoring three goals and assisting on the game-winning strike at 13:44 of the first half by Whitney Heise. Kathryn Ritter scored the other goal for the Chargers, who out-shot the Express 34-to-8. Tucker scored her second goal of the season, unassisted, at 5:10 of the first half to temporarily tie the game at one apiece before Heise's game-winner.

Chargers goaltender Emily Lloyd (5-3) collected her fifth victory of the year for the Chargers, turning aside three-of-four shots on goal. Express netminder Ashley Roser (Taberg, N.Y.) falls to 2-8 overall after allowing five goals on 15 shots.

The Express return to action Sunday, Sept. 30 as they host the Saxons of Alfred University in a 1:00 p.m. contest at the North Athletic Field.
