Women's Soccer Silenced By Keystone, 5-0

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College women's soccer team posted a 5-0 loss to the Giants of Keystone College Sunday afternoon at the North Athletic Field. With the loss, the Express fall to 0-4 on the year following the non-conference tilt while the Giants improve to 4-0. Keystone has not allowed a goal in any of their four contests on the year.

Keystone scored four goals in the first 13:54 of the game and never looked back. Samantha Littleford struck for two goals while Brittany Sugalski and Shaina Johnson added tallies of their own to increase the Giants lead. In the second half, Krissy Novak added the fifth goal of the game to add insurance down the stretch.

Cumulatively, Keystone out-shot the Express by a 28-to-10 margin. Freshman Amelia Thomas (Springfield, Vt.), junior captain Shannon Blanford (Fayetteville, N.Y.) and senior Charlee Weidman (New Berlin, N.Y.) all had two shots. Weidman placed two on goal to lead the team in that category.

Wells goalkeeper Kylie Nishioka (Encinitas, Calif.) allowed five goals on 13 shots while Katelyn Coon went the distance for the visitors, halting all five shots on net that she faced.

The Express return to action Saturday, Sept. 14 as they travel to play the Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill in a 3:00 p.m. road game.
