Women’s Soccer Halted By Alfred, 3-0

ALFRED, N.Y. – The Wells College women's soccer team posted a 3-0 loss to the Saxons of Alfred University Monday evening. With the loss, the Express fall to 3-9 overall on the year while the Saxons improve to 4-7 on the season following the non-conference tilt.

Nicole Lobur scored two goals for Alfred, providing the only offense the home team would need after her goal only 7:32 into the contest. She later scored 2:35 into the second half, elevating the Saxons to a 3-0 lead that they would not relinquish. Mary Hendee was set up by Samantha Randall in the game's 18th minute for her team's second goal of the game.

All four of Wells shots on net were turned aside by the Alfred goalkeeping duo of Samijo Scheer and Alicia Hanes. Scheer turned aside three shots in the game's first 80-plus minutes before yielding to Hanes who halted one shot on net.

Wells goalkeeper Olivia Baum (Summerville, S.C.) allowed three goals on eight total shots that she faced to pick up only her second loss of the season.

The Express return to action this Wednesday, Oct. 9 as they play the Storm of Keuka College on the road at 7:00 p.m.
