Women’s Soccer Stymied By Morrisville State, 1-0

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Wells College women's soccer team posted a 1-0 loss to the host Mustangs of Morrisville State College on Wednesday. With the loss, Wells falls to 5-7 overall and to 5-3 within the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Despite holding the 7-0 all-time advantage over the Mustangs entering last season, the Express have lost two-straight contests to Morrisville State.

At 19:16, Morrisville State saw the game's only goal scored in their favor as Amber Welsh cashed in after an extended stretch of offensive pressure. The Mustangs outshot Wells by a 15-to-8 margin cumulatively and held the decisive 6-to-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Wells backstop Abbigail Kime (Geneva, N.Y.) allowed one goal on six total shots, drawing the loss. Morrisville State keeper Angela Marriott halted all three shots on net for the hosts.

The Express return to action Sunday, Oct. 12 as they host the Nittany Lions of Penn St.-Abington in a high noon contest at the North Athletic Field.
