Raczynski Scores In 3-1 Loss To Cazenovia

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – Junior Karley Raczynski (Fonda, N.Y.) opened the scoring for both sides, but the hosts scored three-straight goals as the Wells College women's soccer team lost to the Wildcats of Cazenovia College by a 3-0 score at Christakos Field on Saturday.

With the loss, Wells falls to 5-9 overall on the year and to 5-5 within the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Cazenovia (7-9) picked up a huge victory in league play, tying Wells with a 5-5 conference record.

Raczynski scored an unassisted goal at 21:19 to open the scoring, but Cazenovia rallied with three-straight goals to win the game. The Wildcats defense limited the Express to zero shots in the second half despite Wells outshooting the hosts by a 7-to-6 margin in the first 45 minutes. For Cazenovia, Emily Graham scored the game-tying goal and assisted the next two goals scored by Briana Bailey and Gia Cuomo-Browne.

Wells goalkeeper Quinn Doubet (Cortland, N.Y.) allowed three goals on six shots faced. Lauren Gee picked up the win for Cazenovia, halting five-of-six shots on net.

After concluding their road schedule on Saturday against Cazenovia, Wells hosts Lancaster Bible College on Friday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. before ending their regular season with a 1 p.m. home game versus Penn St.-Berks on Saturday, Oct. 25.
