FULL NSCAA COLLEGE AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT

KANSAS CITY – Freshman Jordan Lidell (Pitcher, N.Y.) was selected as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America College Player of the Week for all of NCAA Division III women's soccer, the organization announced on Tuesday. Lidell is the first student-athlete in Wells College history to earn a weekly award from the NSCAA.

"It is an exciting time for women's soccer at Wells as we all work toward the common goal of raising the level of play and expectations for our program," said Head Coach Mara Primmer. "We are happy with the progression and impact Jordan is making as a first-year member of the team. We are looking forward to her continued growth as a player."

Lidell scored a team-leading four goals and two assists for 10 points (4-2=10) in the three games last week. Coming off the bench against Morrisville State, Lidell assisted sophomore Yanna Ososkalo's (Lyme, N.Y.) team-leading ninth goal of the season before securing her first collegiate hat trick with a strike in the game's 62nd minute.

Against SUNY Cobleskill on Sunday, Lidell put Wells on the board only 2:49 into regulation time before going on to assist the game-winning goal only 1:18 into the second half. In 17 games as a freshman, Lidell has scored five goals and four assists for 14 points (5-4=14) to rank fourth on the team in point scoring.

Wells returns to action Sunday, Oct. 25 as they travel to the campus of Penn St.-Abington for a 2 p.m. conference tilt against the Nittany Lions.
