Wells women's soccer freshman forward Emma Booth scored the game-winning goal three minutes into overtime as the Express won 2-1 on the road against D'Youville College on Wednesday, Sept. 21 in Buffalo, N.Y. Wells improved to 4-3-0 on the year and D'Youville is 4-3-1.

Booth took a long pass from Carley Ryan, collected it in the box, and shot the game-winner into the net off of the underside of the crossbar. It was the sixth goal of the season for Booth, who leads the team in goals and points. It was the first assist of the year for Ryan, a sophomore defender.

The Express rallied from a one-goal deficit in the second half to tie the game and send it to overtime.

The game was scoreless after the opening 45 minutes. Wells was outshot by a 10-6 margin in the first half, but turned the game in its favor in the second half. D'Youville opened the scoring in the 54th minute following a scramble in front of the net.

Wells tied the game seven and a half minutes later as a cross from Amber Welsh picked out Mackenzie Maloney at the far post for the goal. It was the third goal in the last three games for Maloney, who has four goals on the season.

Wells goalkeeper Karlie Maloney made 10 saves in her 93 minutes of action and conceded just one goal.
