Women's Soccer Falls In NEAC Opener

The Wells College women's soccer team went on the road for its first North Eastern Athletic Conference match of the season and lost 5-1 at Penn College in Williamsport, Pa. on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Junior midfielder Carissa Perkins scored for Wells, which is 2-5-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the NEAC. Penn College is 3-4-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the league.

Penn College scored three times in the opening 23 minutes of the game before Perkins scored an unassisted goal in the 39th minute to get the Express on the board.

The Wildcats added two more goals in a span of 1 minute, 14 seconds in the second half to make it 5-1. Penn College held a 19-4 advantage in shots. Wells goalkeeper Quinn Doubet made seven saves.

Wells continues conference action Saturday, Sept. 30 with a home game against Morrisville State College at 2 p.m. at the Wells Turf Field.
