Seniors Honored As Women's Soccer Caps Season

The Wells College women's soccer team concluded its 2017 season with a  5-1 loss to first-place SUNY Poly on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Wells Turf Field.

Wells honored and recognized its seven-member senior class prior to the start of the match. The honored players were Quinn Doubet, Sarah Halstead, Sammie Jones, Elizabeth Lockley, Madison Maloney, Yanna Ososkalo, and Dallia Rorick.

SUNY Poly scored three times in the first half to take control, and added two more after halftime.

Mackenzie Maloney scored for Wells in the 73rd minute to get the Express on the board. Senior midfielder Yanna Ososkalo assisted on the goal. Ososkalo finished her Wells career with 68 career points in 68 career matches. Ososkalo ranks fifth all-time in scoring for the Express.

Quinn Doubet made four first-half saves for Wells and Karlie Maloney made one save in the second half.

Wells finished the year with a 6-11-0 overall record and 4-6-0 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The Express won four straight games over a two-week stretch in October.
