Women’s Soccer Falls After Cobleskill Rallies in Second Half

The Wells College women's soccer team took a 1-0 first-half lead only to fall victim to a SUNY Cobleskill rally in the second as Wells fell 2-1 on the road on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Mackenzie Powers scored on a breakaway nine minutes into the contest and Wells maintained the lead for the next 36 minutes until Cobleskill got a pair of second half goals in an eight-minute span to take the win.

Jennifer McCumber had nine saves in the Wells net defensively, while offensively the Express got shots from Powers, Alexis Huff and Erin Persons. Cobleskill held the edges in both shots and corners in the contest.

The women's soccer team next hosts Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, October 12 at 2 p.m.
