Strong Second Road Half for Women’s’ Soccer Team

The Wells College women's soccer team played one of its most competitive 45 minutes of the season on the road at Alfred State on Sept. 11.

Just one goal separated the Express and Pioneers in the second half as Wells showed no quit despite falling behind by seven after the first half. Alfred's offense attempted nearly 30 shots and generated a dozen corner kicks.

Wells' senior goalkeeper Jennifer McCumber was just one save shy of recording her fourth-consecutive game with double-digit saves, but raised her season total to 65 and her career total to 260.

The Express' best scoring chance came from Mackenzie Kunkle late in the first half.

Wells next travels to Cazenovia College for a 4 p.m. start on Tuesday, Sept. 14
