EXPRESS CRUISE PAST COLLEGE OF ST. ELIZABETH

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College women's swimming placed first in seven of 11 events en route to a 63-32 victory over the College of St. Elizabeth Sunday afternoon in Aurora. Gabby Spencer (Trumansburg, N.Y.) and Idolyn Villiotti (Amherst, N.H.) each placed first in three events to lead the Express.

 

Spencer and Villiotti helped lead the 200 Yard Medley Relay team, also swam by Erika Bareiss (Clinton, N.Y.) and Olivia Touron (Cato, N.Y.), to a first place finish  with a time of 2:13. 39. Individually, Spencer also placed first in the 50 Yard Freestyle touching the wall with a time of 27.38 before finishing first in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:02.58.

 

Villiotti placed first in the 200 Yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:40.25 and also placed first in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:12.71.

 

Touron also helped lead the Express to a first place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle finishing the event with a time of 6:27.04. The 200  Yard Freestyle Relay team of Hallie Hanson (Ashville, N.Y.), Britta Kilbourn (Scotia, N.Y.), Gwenn Lillie (Potsdam, N.Y.), and Sarah Sherboneau (Auburn, N.Y.) rounded out the highlights for the Express placing first with a time of 2:07.56.

 

The Express return to the pool next on Jan. 18 when they travel to take on Marywood University at 5 p.m. in Scranton, Pa.
