WOMEN'S SWIMMING EARNS SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA HONORS

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College women's swimming team has been named a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) after posting a cumulative GPA of 3.09 through the fall 2011 semester.

The Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).

The Express were one of just 28 NCAA Division III teams to earn the award from across the country and the only NEAC team to earn the honor.

Wells won their first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship this past weekend setting five NEAC records in the process.

The College Swimming Coaches Association is the oldest coaches organization in America.  In addition to Scholar All American Awards, the CSCAA recognizes All American Swimmers and Divers at the national championships every year
