Women’s Swimming Collects 55-34 Victory Over Pitt.-Bradford

BRADFORD, Pa. – The Wells College women's swimming program posted a 55-34 victory over the host Panthers of the University of Pittsburgh – Bradford on Saturday. Wells also competed against Mansfield University, falling to their women's program by a 76-18 margin.

Freshman Amelia Flint (Bath, N.Y.) placed second for the Express in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle and notched a time of 12:37.73 in the event. Her time cracks the top-10 list in program history for the event. Later in the meet, junior Olive Touron (Cato, N.Y.) and senior Hallie Hanson (Ashville, N.Y.) placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 50 Yard Freestyle with times of 28.67 and 31.53, respectively.

Freshman Gina Ross-Detro (Geneva, N.Y.) and classmate Melanie Canales (Burlington, Mass.) posted times of 2:46.09 and 2:55.58 in the 200 Yard Individual Medley, placing third and fourth for Wells. Flint struck again during the 100 Yard Freestyle, trailing the top finisher from Mansfield by only four seconds while placing second with a time of 1:04.79.

The Express return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 21 as they face-off against the Pioneers of Alfred State College in a 6:00 p.m. road meet. Last season, Wells posted an 81-3 victory over the Pioneers within the Wells College Aquatic Center.
