Swim Teams Draw Spring 2015 Scholar All-America Merits

ESSEX FELLS, N.J. – For the second-straight semester, the Wells College men's and women's swimming programs were selected as College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams for their academic prowess. The award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher each semester.

The men's swimming team at Wells combined to post a 3.35 grade-point average this past spring, placing 16th amongst qualifying NCAA Division III men's programs nationwide. The Wells women chipped in with a 3.22 combined average, earning Scholar All-American placement for the second time since the Fall of 2011.

Piloted by Trish George, the longest-tenured Head Coach at Wells, the men's swimming program at Wells placed third at the recent North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship meet while the Express women turned in a fourth place finish. Combining the results of both teams, Wells posted 35 career-best times, earned 25 NEAC All-Conference awards and registered 24 new All-Wells Top 10 times.
