Women's Swimming Drops Home Opener Against Utica

The Wells College women's swimming team hosted Utica College and fell by a score of 53-35 on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Schwartz Athletic Center. It was the first home meet of the season for the Express.

The Express opened the dual meet with a time of 2:11.17 in the 200-yard medley relay by Shannon Simmons, Gina Ross-Detro, Courtney Cloutier, and Chelsea Munson.

Simmons took second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 28.17 and was the second to finish in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:11.63. Ross-Detro was the second finisher in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:20.63 but earned first-place scoring points in the event.

The Express women's swimming team will travel to face Cedar Crest on Saturday, Nov. 12.
