Strong Swims For Women's Swimming In Tri-Meet At Utica

The Wells College women's swimming team contested two opponents in a tri-meet hosted by Utica College on Saturday, Nov. 4. Utica defeated Wells 186-52 and Roberts Wesleyan came away with a 130-97 win over the Express.

Kaitlyn Schwend was second in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:18.08 and second in the 100 free in 1:03.72.

Shannon Simmons was second in the 50-yard freestyle in 29.40 seconds and third in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:44.68.

Amy Storti took third and Asa Cade took fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle as Storti clocked in at 14:32.47 and Cade finished in 14:59.01. In the 500-yard freestyle, Storti was third in 7:00.74 and Emily Cooper was fourth in 7:02.36.

The Express closed the meet with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Anna Bozeat, Storti, Simmons, and Schwend timed in at 2:04.43.

Wells will return to action Saturday, Nov. 11 with another tri-meet, against NEAC opponents Gallaudet University and at the host site Cedar Crest College.
