NEAC Women's Swimming Honor For Schwend

Wells College women's swimming senior Kaitlyn Schwend earned recognition as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week selection in women's swimming and diving for the week ending Jan. 28

Schwend is a native of San Marcos, Calif. and earned the weekly honor for the second time this season. The senior swimmer earned individual victories in the 100-yard butterfly and the 500-yard freestyle in a meet against SUNY Delhi, while also competing on the winning team in the 200-yard medley relay. Those victories came in the Senior Night meet for Wells.

Over the weekend against Cazenovia and William Smith, Schwend finished third in the 100-yard butterfly and swam on a third-place team in the 400-yard medley relay.

Schwend was previously awarded NEAC Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week ending Dec. 4.

Wells has concluded its regular season and will be back in action Feb. 16-18 at the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships at SUNY Cobleskill.
