Dual-Meet Win For Women's Swimming At Gallaudet

The Wells College women's swimming team earned its first dual-meet victory of the season with a 115-65 win at Gallaudet University on Saturday, Nov. 10. Wells won six individual events and one relay at the meet.

Courtney Cloutier was a triple-winner in individual events. Her first came in the 200-yard individual medley where she swam 2:32.47. She came back in the next event and finished in 1:11.19 to take the 100-yard butterfly. She also won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:18.55.

Callia Ortega won both sprint freestyle races for the second meet in a row. Ortega swam 28.65 in the 50 free and 1:03.85 in the 100 free. Caitlin Lawrence was second in both the 50 free (29.25) and 100 free (1:08.78).

Jess Boeheim swam unopposed and won the 1,000-yard freestyle and took fourth in the 500 free.

Shannon Simmons was second in the 100-yard backstroke.

The Express closed the meet with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Kaitlin Antoine, Amy Storti, Simmons, and Ortega swam 2:09.23.

Wells will return to competition Dec. 1 with a home meet against SUNY Cobleskill and Roberts Wesleyan at the Schwartz Athletic Center.
