Women's Swim Beats Cobleskill, Falls To Roberts Wesleyan

The Wells College women's swimming team returned to competitive action and split dual-meet results against Roberts Wesleyan and SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Schwartz Athletic Center aquatics facility. Roberts Wesleyan defeated Wells 185-67 and Wells won 135-91 against Cobleskill.

Wells took third in the 200-yard medley relay with Shannon Simmons, Bella George, Caroline Kelemen, and Emily Cooper clocking a 2:41.59.

Courtney Cloutier was an individual-event winner for Wells with a time of 2:29.95 to take first in the 200-yard individual medley. Cloutier was second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:35.82. She took another second-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke in the most exciting event of the meet as Cloutier was edged by 42-hundredths of a second in that event. Cloutier swam 2:46.31 in that event.

Amy Storti was second for Wells in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 15:07.05.

Caitlin Lawrence picked up a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:37.35. She was fourth in the 50 free in 29.63 seconds and in the 100 free in 1:08.01.

Wells was second in the concluding 200-yard freestyle relay as Lawrence, Storti, Simmons, and Cloutier touched in 2:02.61.

The Express is back in the pool Jan. 12 at Buffalo State and also against Pitt Bradford.
