Women’s Swimming Team Crowned 2020 NEAC Champions

The Wells College swimming team took the 2020 North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships at SUNY Cobleskill on Feb. 16.

Going into the final day of competition, the Express trailed host SUNY Cobleskill but in the end beat Cedar Crest College for the 2020 title.

Wells College had three top-three finishes on the final day with one first, one second and one third.

Individually, Saoirse Murphy-Collins had the lone first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.43, while Hailey Onofre finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:58.83 time.

The second-place Wells finish came in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a 4:18.70 time. Murphy-Collins and Ononfre were joined by Nicole D'Aurizio and Shannon Simmons.
