WOMEN'S TENNIS PLACES THIRD AT CHAMPIONSHIP

Clark Summit, Pa.- The Wells College women's tennis team took third at the North Eastern Athletic Conference championship held at the Birchwood Tennis and Fitness Center on Thursday afternoon in Clarks Summit, Pa. The Express fell to No. 3 seed Keuka College 5-2, but turned things around in the consolation match defeating No. 4 SUNY Cobleskill 5-3.

The Keuka College Storm held a 2-1 advantage after the doubles flight. The Express duo of Aya Shiraishi and Ana Lucia Riley won the only match 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. 

The Storm cruised through singles action winning four of five matches. Riley managed the only victory in singles action winning at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-2. 

Things turned around for the Express in the consolation match. Cat Abrego and Ana Riley led the Express to third place winning at No. 1 and No. 3 singles. Abrego won 7-6, 6-1, while Riley won 6-4, 6-0.
