WELLS WOMEN’S TENNIS ROLLS OVER HARRISBURG

Aurora, N.Y.–  The Wells College women's tennis team (2-0) steadily defeated the Penn. St. Harrisburg Nittany Lions 7-2 on Sunday afternoon in Aurora, N.Y. The Express swept all three double-matches, while taking four of six singles matches to secure the victory.

Aya Shiraishi (Osaka, Japan) and Caitlyn Copfer (Clinton, N.Y./Clinton) each won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0, Ana Lucia Riley (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) won handedly 6-0, 6-1, while Sarah Hansen (Cortland Manor, N.Y./Hendrick) held on for a 6-4, 6-2 win. Cat Abrego (Berwyn, Ill./Mt. Spokane) and Hansen teamed-up to take No. 1 doubles 8-4, No. 2 doubles Paula Goodnough (Mannsville, N.Y./S. Jefferson) and Riley won 8-2, while Mindi and Lorina Lamier (Canastota, N.Y./Canastota) took No. 3 doubles 8-1.

The Express return to action on Wednesday, March 31st against Roberts Wesleyan at 4:00 p.m. in Aurora, N.Y.
