ELMIRA SOARS PAST EXPRESS

ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira College Soaring Eagles rolled past the Wells College women's tennis team 8-1 on Saturday afternoon in Elmira. The Soaring Eagles earned victories in five of six singles matches and swept the doubles action to earn the win.

Kate Ellis earned the only victory for the Express, defeating Amy Schmidt 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Brittany Vanno played tough at No. 5 singles forcing a first set tie breaker (7-2) before falling in the second set 6-3.

The Express return to action tomorrow when they travel to take on Utica College at 1 p.m. in Utica.
