EXPRESS WIN THREE IN A ROW IN WOMEN’S TENNIS
MORRISTOWN, N.J. (April 14th, 2012) – The Wells College women's tennis crew cruised to a 9-0 victory over College of St. Elizabeth in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action on Saturday. The EXPRESS improve to 5-4 in overall season play and 3-0 in the NEAC, while C.S.E looks for their first victory.
The ladies set the pace in doubles action giving up only four of twenty-four games played. Taguchi and Ellis improve their doubles record to a perfect 3-0 on the season earning a score of 8-2. While both 2nd and 3rd doubles teams posted scores of 8-1 to set the match pace.
Singles players took to the courts with confidence earning straight set's victories in all six matches. Taguchi def. Pepe at 1st singles with a 6-2, 6-2 score line, while at 2nd singles, Ellis posted a 6-0, 6-1 over Elleston. Copfer defeated Cooper at 3rd singles by set scores of 6-1, 6-0, while Vanno was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at the 4th spot. The match wrapped up at 5th and 6th singles with Shimazaki and Alexis earning perfect 6-0, 6-0 victories.
The EXPRESS next traveled to Abington, Pennsylvania where the Nittany Lions hosted a 1pm contest on Sunday.
