Women's Tennis Drops Fall Finale, 9-0

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Wells College women's tennis team posted a 9-0 loss to the Bombers of Ithaca College Saturday afternoon at Glazer Arena. With the loss, the Express conclude their fall calendar of contests with a 1-7 overall record. The Bombers remain undefeated, boasting an overall record of 9-0 on the year.

The closest match of the day for the Express came at No. 1 doubles as the tandem of Emma Martin (Concord, N.H.) and Brittany Vanno (Whitesboro, N.Y.) fell to Amy Gittleman and Megan Hedrich by an 8-5 margin. The remaining matches in both singles and doubles play were won by the Bombers.

The Express' open their spring calendar of matches on Saturday, Apr. 6 as they face-off against Lancaster Bible College in a 1:00 p.m. match. They conclude the fall calendar of games with an 0-1 conference record, falling to the Storm of Keuka College by an 8-1 score on Wednesday, Sept. 19. With seven conference matches on the schedule, the Express will look to return to the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs for the second consecutive season.
