Women’s Tennis Blanked By Hartwick, 9-0

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College women's tennis team posted a 9-0 loss to the Hawks of Hartwick College Saturday morning. With the loss, the Express wrap up their fall calendar of matches without a victory (0-5) while the Hawks improve to 5-6 on the year.

Sophomore Brooke Benedetto (Williamstown, N.Y.) and her Hartwick opponent, Rebecca Clark, had the closest match on the day. At No. 3 singles, Benedetto played Clark to a 7-5 opening set score before falling by a 6-1 margin in the decisive second set.

Wells, who plays their North Eastern Athletic Conference schedule in the spring, returns to action Saturday, Mar. 22 as they face-off against Elmira College in a noontime road match.
