Women’s Tennis On Wrong End Of 9-0 Decision At Keuka

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Wells College women's tennis team posted a 9-0 loss to the Wolfpack of Keuka College on Saturday. With the loss, Wells falls to 1-4 overall while Keuka improves to 2-0 in the non-traditional season.

In doubles play, Wells found themselves on the wrong end of several close matches. At No. 2 doubles, the tandem of freshman Danielle Bautista (Moorpark, Calif.) and junior Kevisha Hunt (Germantown, Md.) lost an 8-5 decision while sophomores Laura Webb (Rochester, N.Y.) and Nicole Sanborn (Onondaga, N.Y.) dropped a hotly-contested 9-7 tilt at No. 3 doubles.

At No. 1 singles, junior Brooke Benedetto (Williamstown, N.Y.) jumped out to the early 6-3 lead, but her opponent from Keuka took the second set 7-5 and the decisive third set 6-1.

The Express host Hartwick at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 to conclude their fall calendar of matches.
