Women's Tennis Drops Close Match vs. Fredonia St.

AURORA, N.Y. - The Wells College women's tennis team dropped a hotly-contested match by a 5-4 score against Fredonia St. on Saturday. With the loss, Wells drops to 0-2 on the year while Fredonia St. moves to 3-3 on the year.

The tandem of Brooke Benedetto (Williamstown, N.Y.) and Kamarie Maturine (Brooklyn, N.Y.) picked up a 9-7 victory at No. 1 singles and the duo of Kevisha Hunt (Germantown, Md.) and Yuna Furusawa put Wells up 2-1 after doubles play with a clutch 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.

Benedetto later added an 8-6 win at No. 1 singles while Maturine followed with a perfect 8-0 win at No. 2 singles.

Wells fell by a 5-4 score for the second-straight match, losing to Oswego St. in the season opener.
