Women's Tennis Nipped By Oswego State, 6-3

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Wells College women's tennis team picked up three singles victories in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Oswego State University. Wells falls to 2-5 overall on the year while the Lakers move to 6-11 on the year following the non-league match. 

Senior Brooke Benedetto (Williamstown, N.Y.) picked up her sixth win of the year at No. 1 singles, defeating Alecia Kreamer by a 6-3, 7-6 (4) score. Since joining the team, Benedetto has racked up 24 singles victories and continues to climb the program leaderboard. 

Senior Kevisha Hunt (Germantown, Md.) earned a come-from-behind victory at No. 2 singles, rallying from a 6-1 deficit to take the next two games, 6-3, 6-4. Yuna Furusawa (Hirakata, Osaka, Japan) earned the second singles victory of her young career, taking the 7-5, 6-1 decision at No. 4 singles. 

Wells returns to action Sunday, Apr. 10 as it takes on St. Elizabeth at 1 p.m. on the road.
