Kadjeski Earns Program's First-Ever All-Conference Nod

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Freshman Meredith Kadjeski (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) earned North Eastern Athletic Conference Second Team All-Conference honors for her performance on the Wells College women's volleyball team in 2013, the conference office announced late Tuesday afternoon. In only their second year as an NCAA-era varsity program, Kadjeski is the first player in team history to earn NEAC All-Conference recognition.

Kadjeski led all Express players with 318 kills in 2013, setting a single-season program record for kills in the process. She also led all players in total attacks (961) and total blocks (28) while posting 47 service aces for Wells, ranking second on the team in that category. Defensively, Kadjeski racked up 143 digs (1.49/set).

Amongst the conference's rookies, Kadjeski trailed only freshman Sophia Zhang of Penn St.-Berks with 318 kills and 3.31 kills per set. Overall amongst conference foes, Kadjeski was fourth in kills per set and eighth in total kills. Against league teams, Kadjeski posted the conference's third-best kills per set mark (3.67) and the second-highest amount of kills (143), once again trailing Zhang in both categories.

In 2013, Kadjeski set individual match program records for kills (23, vs. Utica, 09/07/13) and attack attempts (67, vs. SUNY Cobleskill, 10/06/13) while posting the second-highest amount of service aces in team history (7, vs. D'Youville, 09/28/13). After only one season, she is tied for the all-time program record for career kills (318, Zakarra Butts, 2012-13).

Her six double-doubles also set a single-season program record, reaching double-digit kill and dig totals in the same matches. From Sept. 28 to Oct. 6, she posted double-digit kill totals in six matches and ultimately recorded double-digit totals in all but eight matches on the year.
