AURORA, N.Y. – For the second-straight season, the Wells College women's volleyball team has qualified for the North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball postseason. The Express, entering play as the No. 2 seed, earned a first round bye and will play its first match on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2:30 p.m. on the campus of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

Wells, competing in its fourth modern-day season of women's volleyball since the team's revival in 2012, recently achieved its best-ever record in conference play, posting 11 victories while losing only a single match. The team has made two postseason appearances since 2014 after posting 21 regular season conference victories in 24 matches and remains in search of its first-ever NEAC tournament win.

"This season's focus began on the drive home from our difficult loss in the NEAC semifinals last year," remarked Head Coach Richard Gary. "There is no doubt these women are driven to keep getting better while striving for more. The emotional and physical challenges we've faced this season have been the toughest I've seen in my career and I'm incredibly proud of how this group has turned every obstacle into a moment of growth."

The Wildcats from SUNY Poly enter play as the No. 1 seed, having earned the right to host after defeating the Express by a 3-1 margin earlier in the season. Wells, who also posted an 11-1 record, is seeded second while the Bison from Gallaudet University enter play as the No. 3 seed, compiling 10 victories in 12 conference matches.

Penn St.-Berks is the fourth seed, rattling off a 9-3 record while Keuka College enters the tournament ranked fifth, posting an 8-4 mark against conference foes. Lancaster Bible rounds out the playoff qualifiers, entering the tournament after a 7-5 record in NEAC play.

The Express will play the victor from the Gallaudet/Lancaster Bible matchup on Friday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. Wells defeated Gallaudet by a 3-2 margin on Oct. 3 after dispatching Lancaster Bible, 3-1, on the road Sept. 19.

The NEAC Championship match will be held on Sunday, Nov.8 at 1 p.m. Gallaudet has won the last five league titles entering play this weekend.
