Women's Volleyball Continues Strong Play in NEAC Matches

The Wells College women's volleyball team continued its strong run of recent play with two wins and one loss in North Eastern Athletic Conference matches on Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24 hosted by Keuka College. In Friday's match, Wells dropped a four-set match against Lancaster Bible by set scores of 25-19, 20-25, 25-16, 27-25. The Express rebounded Saturday to defeat Penn College in straight sets 25-14, 25-8, 25-22 and Penn State-Berks in four sets by scores of 25-20, 25-17, 17-25, 25-22.

Wells is 9-4 overall and 5-1 in NEAC matches. The Express plays Wednesday at SUNY Cortland at 7 p.m.

Lancaster Bible 3, Wells 1

In Friday's match, Meredith Kadjeski had 14 kills and Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo had 10 kills. The Express hit .098 as a team in the match. Eliza Schwab had 34 assists, two service aces, and Schwab and Amanda Springer each had one solo block and two assisted blocks. Leite-Ah Yo had 15 digs.

Wells 3, Penn College 0

Amanda Springer led Wells with eight kills as 11 different players saw action. Schwab had 19 assists and Wells had 16 total service aces, led by Jackie Allen with six, Schwab with four and Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo had three. Schwab led Wells with 11 digs.

Wells 3, Penn State-Berks 1

Wells closed the weekend with a win over Penn State-Berks as Jackie Allen led the team with 15 kills. She had one solo block. Olyvia Brazier had 10 kills and three service aces. Eliza Schwab had 35 assists and 22 digs.
