Women's Volleyball Takes Close Match At Keuka

The Wells College women's volleyball team moved into a tie for second place in the North Eastern Athletic Conference following a three-set win at Keuka College on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Set scores were 27-25, 25-23, 25-21.

Wells improved to 12-5 overall and 6-1 in the NEAC. Keuka is 9-6 overall and 5-3 in the conference. With a 6-1 NEAC record, Wells is tied for second place with Gallaudet University, trailing only SUNY Polytechnic Institute with a 9-1 NEAC mark.

The Express .190 for the match while Keuka had a .069 hitting percentage. Wells had 32 kills and 13 errors on 100 attacks. Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo and Olyvia Brazier each had eight kills to lead the Express. Amanda Springer and Jackie Allen had five kills each.

Eliza Schwab and Renee Bartosz had three service aces each. Schwab had 26 assists.

Springer had one solo block and Schwab and Meredith Kadjeski combined for another block. Schwab and Leite-Ah Yo had nine digs apiece.

Wells is 11-2 in its last 13 overall matches. The Express returns to action this weekend with a neutral site match against Johnson State and another match against host Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at North Adams, Mass. on Saturday, Oct. 8.
