Women's Volleyball Standouts Earn All-Conference Honors

Two members of the Wells College women's volleyball team earned all-conference recognition when the North Eastern Athletic Conference postseason awards were announced for the 2016 season. Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo was named to the All-NEAC First Team and Jackie Allen was voted to the Third Team.

Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo, a junior outside hitter/defensive specialist from Hilo, Hawaii, made the all-conference team for the third year in a row. It is her first time being recognized on the First Team. She led Wells in several statistical categories including total kills, kills per set, and digs. Her total of 372 digs established a single-season record for Wells.

Leite-Ah Yo added to her resume of all-conference awards that also includes her earning NEAC Rookie of the Year in 2014, NEAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2015, all-conference second-team honors in 2014 and third-team honors in 2015.

Allen, a freshman outside hitter from Syracuse, N.Y., made an immediate impact on the Wells lineup and she ranked second on the team in kills per set and hitting percentage, third in overall kills, and fifth in digs and service aces per set. It is her first all-conference award.

Wells finished the season with a 19-11 record, the second-best overall record in the program's NCAA-era history. The team also made history by winning a postseason match for the first time in the modern era with a three-set victory over Penn State-Berks in the quarterfinals of the NEAC playoffs.
