Two More Wins For Women's Volleyball

The Wells College women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to five matches by winning twice on Saturday, Sept. 16 in a tri-meet hosted by Keystone College. In the first match of the day for Wells, the Express defeated Gwynedd Mercy in four sets. Wells won its second match, against host Keystone, in three sets.

Wells is 8-4 overall this season and will return to action at home Saturday, Sept. 23 with a noon match against Morrisville State College and a 4 p.m. match against Hamilton College.

Wells 3, Gwynedd Mercy 1

Wells won the third and fourth sets to take the victory over Gwynedd Mercy. Set scores in the match were 25-15, 21-25, 25-19, 25-13. Wells had a .226 hitting percentage as a team. Rachel Anderson had 13 kills and hit .385 in the match. Eliza Schwab had 26 assists.

The Express served very well with 13 aces in the match. Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo had four, Olyvia Brazier had three, and Schwab had two aces. Leite-Ah Yo led Wells with 13 digs. Amanda Springer and Lakshmi Martin each had one solo block and one block assist.

Wells 3, Keystone 0

The Express hit .215 in the match and won by set scores of 25-19, 25-15, 25-22. Olyvia Brazier had eight kills and Rachel Anderson and Amanda Springer had seven kills each. Schwab had 26 assists and averaged 7.42 assists per set on the day over two matches.

Wells totaled 12 block assists including three each by Lakshmi Martin and Amanda Springer and two each from Rachel Anderson and Eliza Schwab.

Schwab and Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo each had two aces. Olyvia Brazier and Leite-Ah Yo had 17 digs apiece.
