Split For Women's Volleyball On Senior Day

The Wells College women's volleyball team finished its regular season with a split of two matches on Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Schwartz Center. Wells defeated North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Bryn Athyn College 3-0 in the opening match of the day, and dropped a non-conference match against St. John Fisher 3-1 in the second match of the day.

Prior to the matches, Wells honored its four-member senior class that includes Olyvia Brazier, Annabelle Lee, Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo, and Eliza Schwab.

Wells finished the regular season with an 18-12 overall record, and went 8-1 against NEAC opponents. The Express won the NEAC North Division with a perfect 6-0 mark against North Division opposition. Wells will host a NEAC quarterfinal playoff match Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. against SUNY Poly at the Schwartz Center.

Wells 3, Bryn Athyn 0

Set scores were 25-6, 25-12, 25-11. Olyvia Brazier led Wells with 15 kills.

Eliza Schwab had 30 assists, served three aces, and added one solo block and two block assists.

Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo had 13 digs and Annabelle Lee added 12 digs. Leite-Ah Yo and Brazier each served two aces.

St. John Fisher 3, Wells 1

Set scores were 25-21, 10-25, 25-21, 25-13. St. John Fisher improved its record to 22-8.

Wells decisively took the second half and used an 11-point run to close out the set. The Express hit .476 in the second set.

Rachel Anderson led Wells with 12 kills and she hit .417 in the match with just two errors. Olyvia Brazier had eight kills, eight digs, one ace, a solo block and two block assists.

Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo led Wells with 14 digs and three service aces. Jackie Allen had 12 digs.

Eliza Schwab had 31 assists.
