Morrisville Rallies To Beat Wells Women's Volleyball

The Wells College women's volleyball team took the opening set but fell by a 3-1 score at Morrisville State in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Morrisville's STUAC Gymnasium. Set scores were 18-25, 25-15, 25-13, 25-20.

Wells is 5-8 on the season with a 1-1 record in the NEAC. Morrisville is 8-3 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Wells hit .500 in the opening set with 12 kills and just one error in 22 attacks. Over the final three sets Wells had 28 kills and 21 errors. Morrisville hit .284 for the match.

Jackie Allen, the standing North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week, led Wells with 16 kills and a .361 hitting percentage. Lakshmi Martin added nine kills. Lorissa Parks had 23 assists and Jordan Stoops added 12 assists. Parks served three aces, Stoops served two, and Allen had one service ace.

Nanako Otsuka led Wells with 18 digs. Amanda Springer had three block assists.

Wells continues conference play with a NEAC crossover event hosted by Keuka College on Saturday, Sept. 22. Wells will face Penn State Abington at 10 a.m. and College of Saint Elizabeth at noon.
