Women's Volleyball Cruises Past Cazenovia

The Wells College women's volleyball team wrapped up its regular season and tuned up for the North Eastern Athletic Conference postseason with a straight-sets win over Cazenovia College on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Schwartz Athletic Center. Set scores were 25-8, 25-8, 25-9.

Prior to the match, Wells celebrated exchange student Nanako Otsuka and senior Amanda Springer on Senior Day. Nanako Otsuka is a native of Shiga, Japan and is with Wells this year in exchange from the Doshisha Women's College of Liberal Arts. Amanda Springer is from Norwood, Massachusetts. She is majoring in psychology and criminal justice and was an all-conference selection as a junior in 2017.

Wells is 16-11 overall and went 9-2 in NEAC matches. The Express will host a NEAC quarterfinal playoff match against Keuka College on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.

The Express took care of the Wildcats with efficiency through all three sets. Wells hit .486 for the match with 41 kills and just five errors. Wells hit .550 in the first set, .464 in the second set, and .462 in the third set. Wells also served 13 aces in the match.

Rachel Anderson had 13 kills and hit .611. Jackie Allen had seven kills and 10 digs. Otsuka had 10 digs, two kills, two service aces, and two assists. Amanda Springer had five kills and nine digs.
