All-Conference Honors For Wells Women's Volleyball

The Wells College women's volleyball team had three student-athletes honored by the North Eastern Athletic Conference for the 2018 season as the NEAC announced its all-conference teams and award winners on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Rachel Anderson, Jackie Allen, and Jazzmyne Williams were voted to the all-conference teams by opposing NEAC coaches.

Rachel Anderson, a sophomore from St. Louis, Missouri, was voted to the All-NEAC First Team. It is the second year in a row on the First Team for Anderson, who was also the NEAC Rookie of the Year in 2017 as a freshman. In the 2018 season, Anderson ranked in the top 10 in the conference in kills, kills per set, block assists, total blocks, blocks per set, and points per set. She was also 13th in hitting percentage (.284).

Jackie Allen, a junior from Syracuse, New York, earned all-conference honors for the second time in her career. She was voted to the All-NEAC Second Team for 2018. Within conference play this season, Allen was in the top-10 in kills and points, and top-20 in kills per set, hitting percentage, digs, and points per set. Jackie was NEAC Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 16 and NEAC Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 9. Allen was a NEAC Third Team pick as a freshman in 2016.

Jazzmyne Williams, a freshman from San Antonio, Texas, was voted to the All-NEAC Third Team. It is her first-career all-conference honor. Williams ranked in the top-20 in kills, kills per set, service aces, points, and points per set within conference play in the 2018 season. She ranked second on the team in digs and third in kills.

Wells went 9-2 in NEAC matches in the regular season, tied for second in the conference. The Express won a conference quarterfinal match Tuesday, Oct. 30 against Keuka College and Wells will continue play in the NEAC tournament with a semifinal match Saturday, Nov. 3 against Lancaster Bible College. It is the fifth year in a row that Wells has advanced to the NEAC semifinals.
