Women’s Volleyball Team Sweeps Cobleskill

The Wells College women's volleyball team swept Cobleskill State 3-0 to earn its second NEAC conference win of the season on Saturday, Sept. 28. The Express now stands at 2-1 in the NEAC.

Wells took the road win with set scores of 25-17, 27-25 and 26-24. It was the second time the team swept a conference opponent this season.

Lorissa Parks factored-in on three different categories and was one of a half-dozen to record double-digit numbers for the Express. Parks led the team in assists with 18, recorded 11 digs and registered a team-high four aces.

Jazzmyne Williams led the attack with 10 kills. Helping on the attack with 16 assists was Jordan Stoops, who also had a dozen digs. Also registering 12 digs was Jackie Allen, who wasn't far behind Parks in aces with three.

The team's top players with digs were Gabby Rivera – with a team-high 19 – and Nanako Otsuka with 15. Maritza Scharoun finished with seven blocks with six being solo.

The women's volleyball team continues on the road with its next match at Elmira on Wednesday, Oct. 2 starting at 7 p.m.
