Allen Milestones and Records Lead to NEAC Honors

Jackie Allen has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week after setting a match record for kills and becoming the career all-time kill leader for Wells College last week.

The senior from Syracuse broke two records in successive sets in Wells' Oct. 10 match at SUNY Poly. In the fourth set, Allen matched her eight-kill total from set two to surpass the previous career mark of 1,028 with 1,034. She would then add three more kills in the fifth set to increase her all-time record to 1,037 but also crush the previous mark for most kills in a set (27) with 29, while hitting at .333. The impressive totals helped the Express claim a 3-2 win over Poly with those records overshadowed by the two 1,000 milestones Allen also recently reached in kills and digs.

In the team's 3-1 win over Penn State Harrisburg, Allen recorded a pair of double-doubles with 16 kills and 15 digs. She finished out the week with another double-double performance against Penn State Abington with 24 kills and 17 digs in a losing effort.

For the week, Allen registered 69 kills, 53 digs, 6 assists, 5 aces and 2 blocks, while tallying 5.31 kills per-set, 4.08 digs per-set, 5.8 points per-set and hit .212.
