Women’s Volleyball Team Drops Non-Conference Match to Golden Eagles

The Wells College women's volleyball dropped a non-conference road match at Brockport by a 3-0 score. The Express were defeated by set scores of 25-23, 25-16 and 25-18.

Of the three sets, the first set loss was the toughest. Wells broke an early 2-2 tie take the lead until the 23rd point of the set before Brockport took the final three points with Wells' lead reaching seven midway through that opening set.

Leading the way with nine kills was current NEAC Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week Jackie Allen. Jazzmyne Williams added seven kills while Nanako Otsuka recorded three.

Jordan Stoops had a team-high 13 assists with Lorissa Parks adding seven and Gabby Rivera recording a pair and also a team-high 18 digs. Parks added 10 digs and Allen had eight.

Maritza Scharoun had a pair of blocks on the night and Williams also added a block, while Nanako and Parks each recorded an ace.

The women's volleyball team returns to NEAC action this weekend with a pair of contests on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Keuka against Lancaster Bible College at 12 p.m. and Gallaudet University at 2 p.m.
